Direct Connect
Bridge the Gap to Transit
We noticed that sometimes the hardest part of taking the bus isn’t the bus ride itself—it’s getting to and from the bus stop. So we did something pretty revolutionary. We teamed up with Uber, Lyft, United Taxi, and Wheelchair Transport to bridge that gap, literally connecting you from your doorstep to our transit network.
How It Works (It’s Beautifully Simple)
Think of Direct Connect as the missing piece that makes public transit work for everyone. You get a discounted ride to or from any of our 26 Direct Connect locations across Pinellas County, then hop on regular PSTA service for the main part of your journey.
The best part? You can now access everything right through the Transit app. Just enter your destination, look for the Direct Connect option, and choose between Uber or Lyft. The app will even automatically apply your discount voucher—no fumbling around with promo codes.
When you can use it
Direct Connect operates from 5:00am to midnight, seven days a week. Because transit needs don’t follow a 9-to-5 schedule, and neither do we.
What you’ll save
Uber, Lyft, or United Taxi: $5 off your trip
Wheelchair Transport: $25 off your trip
Getting started
Through the Transit app: Look for Direct Connect options after entering your destination—your voucher will automatically apply.
Uber: Use this voucher link to add the discount to your account, then ride to any Direct Connect location.
Lyft: Add promo code LYFT2PSTA to your account, then ride to any Direct Connect location.
United Taxi: Call 727-777-7777 and mention you’re using Direct Connect.
Wheelchair Transport: Call 727-586-2811 and request Direct Connect service.
With 26 convenient locations across the county, there’s likely a Direct Connect stop near both the start and end of your journey. We’re not just connecting buses—we’re connecting communities, one innovative ride at a time.
