Benefits

We want our employees to thrive at PSTA; we believe that you do your best work when you feel your best. Here are just a few benefits we’re proud to provide our team.

PSTA has three medical options offered through Cigna with an optional Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and optional Health Savings Account (HSA). Preventive care is covered at 100% with no need for copay or to reach a deductible. Medications are provided with a copay and the cost will vary depending on the tier of the medication. For all non-preventive care, a copay or deductible will apply depending on the plan selected. PSTA offers the High Deductible Health plan free to the employee. Dependents can be added at an additional cost. Each plan also has an out-of-pocket maximum which varies depending on the health plan the employee chooses. Once the out-of-pocket maximum is met, all covered medical will be paid 100% by the plan for the rest of the calendar year

Flexible Spending Account

This is a pre-tax account for employees to set aside a portion of their earnings to pay for qualified out-of-pocket medical, dental and vision expenses.

Health Savings Account

This is a pre-tax, interest-bearing account for members of PSTA’s high deductible health plan. PSTA does contribute a set amount every plan year (amount varies depending on start date, and tier level), and the employee can contribute a set amount per pay period. The HSA can be used to help pay for employee and dependent(s) deductible, coinsurance and other qualified medical expenses not covered by the plan.

Dental Insurance

PSTA offers two dental insurance plans through Cigna:

  • DHMO Plan - This is a plan where an employee selects a dentist from a network. The employee must go to this dentist until they designate a new dentist with provider. There is no plan year deductible and no benefit maximum. This dental plan is free to the employee, dependents can be added at an additional cost.
  • PPO Plan – Provides benefits for services received from in-network and out-of-network providers. It is an open-access plan which allows for service to be received from any dental provided without having to select a primary dental provider or obtain a referral to a specialist. There is a plan year deductible and a plan year benefit maximum.

Vision

The Vision Plan through Superior Vision provides coverage for routine eye examinations every 12 months. It also provides for required corrective lenses every 12 months and frames every 12 months. The vision plan is free to the employee, dependents can be added at an additional cost.

Employee Life Insurance

PSTA provides Basic Term Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment insurance for all employees, at no cost to the employee. All employees are covered for an amount equal to one time the employee’s annual salary, rounded to the next higher multiple of $1,000 not to exceed $200,000.

Voluntary, Spouse & Dependent Life Insurance

Employees may elect to purchase additional Life insurance on a voluntary basis. This coverage may be purchased in addition to the Basic Term Life and AD&D coverages. Voluntary Life insurance offers coverage for employee, spouse, or child(ren) at different benefit levels.

Voluntary Long-Term Disability

PSTA employees can purchase long-term disability which pays the employee a percentage of gross monthly earnings if the employee becomes disabled due to an illness or injury. Benefit pays 60% of monthly earnings up to monthly maximum of $10,000.
