MEDIA ADVISORY: PSTA to Announce Acquisition of Two Vessels for New Tampa Bay Ferry Service

PINELLAS COUNTY, FL – The future of ferry transportation in Tampa Bay is taking another significant step forward. On Monday, the Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority (PSTA) will announce the acquisition of two vessels that will form the foundation of the region’s new Tampa Bay Ferry service, bringing the agency closer to delivering a reliable water transportation option connecting St. Petersburg and Tampa.

PSTA leaders will share details about the vessel purchase and the next phase of renovations and preparations before entering service. The announcement marks a major achievement in PSTA’s effort to build a long-term ferry service that will expand transportation options throughout the region while providing a convenient alternative to driving. New photos and video of the vessels will also be available, offering a closer look at the boats that will one day carry passengers across Tampa Bay.
