Hurricane Milton Updates

PSTA services have resumed. However, detours and delays are occurring rapidly as roads are being cleared and hazards are being discovered. We appreciate your patience as we work to offer the best possible service to as many riders as we can.

As we continue to recover from Hurricane Milton, PSTA will continue to offer fare-free service through the weekend and will resume Monday, October 14th. Conserve your gas and take transit.

Storm-Related Detours

The following detours are currently in effect:

  • Route 59 is unable to service Indian Rocks Beach and will turn around at Indian Rocks Shopping Center.
  • North Beach Jolley Trolley is not currently in operation at this time.

The St. Pete Emergency Zero Fare Program

In partnership with the City of St. Petersburg, all boardings in the City of St. Pete limits on all PSTA routes will be Zero-Fare to the customer beginning September 30, 2024.

This is a pilot, so it does not apply to Access, MOD, or other mobility programs, only to fixed-route buses. Fares will be reinstated on Monday, October 14, 2024.

Stay Updated

During and after a weather event, the latest information on PSTA bus service can be obtained by calling the InfoLine at 727-540-1900 or by visiting our Facebook or X accounts.

Storm Warnings

PSTA recommends that passengers keep a close watch on any storm and evacuate right away when suggested by Pinellas County Emergency Management. PSTA will phase out regular bus service as a storm approaches in order to provide evacuations and will halt service once a storm has Tropical Storm Force Winds (40 mph).

Emergency Transportation Plan

In the event of a hurricane, PSTA works with Pinellas County Emergency Management to assist with evacuation by providing bus transportation to designated shelters. A list of the shelters and routes that serve them will be posted prior to a pending storm.

There are also several locations where passengers can transfer and ride to a shelter with available space. The transfer locations are: Park Street Terminal, Grand Central Station, Westfield Countryside Mall, Tyrone Square Mall and Pinellas Park Transit Center.

Pets will be permitted on evacuation buses as long as they are in a pet carrier. Passengers who plan to evacuate to a shelter that accepts pets must pre-register with Pinellas County Animal Services by calling 727-582-2600.

Citizens who need transportation to a “special needs” shelter must pre-register with Pinellas County Emergency Management by calling 727-464-3800. Call your nearest fire department or home healthcare provider or submit a form online.

PSTA will resume service as soon as possible after a storm passes. PSTA will keep the local media updated about the status of service, so tune in to your local news provider for the most up-to-date information.
