After traveling eight hours on public transportation after celebrating my sister's birthday on the Treasure Coast, I was almost home.
All that remained was a short twelve-block ride on the Central Avenue Trolley. A wheelchair passenger exiting the trolley caused me to change seats. Absent-mindedly I left my shoulder bag on the seat before exiting at the next stop. As the trolley drove away, I immediately realized just what I'd done.
It was 8:03 PM and the PSTA Info Line was closed for the day. What was left on the bus was an expensive vintage Louis Vuitton shoulder bag containing my laptop computer, financial records, appointment calendars, and my COVID vaccination record. Needless to say, I didn't sleep too soundly that night.
I called the PSTA Lost and Found department when they opened at 8:30 AM. After giving a complete description of the lost shoulder bag and its contents, I was overjoyed to hear that it had been turned in and could now be claimed at the PSTA Complex. We hear so many negative news stories each and every day. This act of honesty and kindness has revived my belief in the goodness of man.
This Vietnam-Era U.S. Army veteran received an early Veterans Day surprise courtesy of PSTA!
Sincerely,
Thomas Sullivan
