Capital Grant Applications

 

The Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority (PSTA) will hold a Public Hearing on:

The Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority (PSTA) invites public input on the FY 2019 Program of Projects (POP) listed below which will be submitted by PSTA to the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) and Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT).

On March 13, 2019, the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) announced the FY 2019 apportionments for Section 5307, 5337 and 5339 formula funds provided by federal transit law and Chapter 53 of Title 49, U.S. Code. The Fixing America’s Surface Transportation (FAST) Act.

PSTA will be requesting federal funding from The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) for Section 5307, 5337 and 5339 formula funds and The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) for Section 5310 funds, which will be used to cover projects listed in PSTA’s FY 2019 POP.


Proposed FY 2019 Program of Projects


Section 5307 – Urbanized Area Formula Grant - PSTA will submit a multi-source grant application to FTA for FY 2019 Section 5307 funding.  The proposed POP for ($14,214,937) will include: preventive maintenance, tire lease, replacement revenue vehicles, passenger amenities, computer hardware, computer software, misc. support equipment, heavy duty bus lifts equipment/installation, short range planning, 3rd party contracts, employee education/training, project administration, and contingency.


Section 5337 – State of Good Repair
- High Intensity Motorbus Formula Grant - PSTA will submit a multi-source grant application to FTA for FY 2019 Section 5337 funding. The proposed POP for the application ($7,396) will be used for the purchase of portable radios.


Section 5339 –
Bus and Bus Facilities Formula Grant - PSTA will submit a multi-source grant application to FTA for FY 2019 Section 5339 funding. The proposed POP for the application ($1,750,080) will be used for the purchase of replacement revenue vehicles.


Section 5310 –
Enhanced Mobility of Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities - All interested parties within Pinellas County are hereby advised that PSTA is applying to the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) for a capital grants under Section 5310 of the Federal Transit Act of 1991, as amended, for the provision of Mobility Management Administration in the amount of $89,103 to be used for the provision of public transit services within the PSTA service area in Pinellas County.

If there are no changes to the proposed FY 2019 POP or funding apportionment, the approved FY 2019 POP will become final, and will serve as the formal funding request. Any changes to the POP or funding apportionment will be posted at PSTA.net and will be considered the final FY 2019 POP.
