This Spring Break Skip Paying to Park & Bypass Traffic by Riding with PSTA

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

February 20th, 2024

This Spring Break Skip Paying to Park & Bypass Traffic by Riding with PSTA

**Media Ride-alongs available per request**

St. Petersburg, FL“Hundreds of thousands of spring breakers head to Florida every year,” said Brad Miller, Chief Executive Officer of PSTA. “We’re going to have two different services, in two different parts of the county, running at a high frequency. We want to make it easier for visitors get around town, while also helping locals avoid the frustration of having to find a parking spot at award-winning beaches, downtown St. Pete, and destinations in between.”

PSTA is once again partnering with the City of Clearwater for its Spring Break Service which provides free parking seven days a week from February 25th through April 27th. This service includes a shuttle that will pick up riders and take them to the Clearwater Marina, near Pier 60.

Here are the locations of the parking lots:

  • The old City Hall lot ( 112 S. Osceola Ave.)
  • The city grass lot south of the City Hall Lot (200 S. Osceola)
  • The County Garage adjacent to Forward Pinellas: (310 Court St) WEEKENDS ONLY!

From Monday through Thursday, the shuttle will be every 30 minutes from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Friday and Saturday service will be every 15 minutes from 10 a.m. to midnight.

On Sunday, service will be every 15 minutes from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The SunRunner is also gearing up for its second Spring Break. After having a record number of ridership last March, staff are expecting high ridership numbers this year as well.

“People can really see the benefits of the SunRunner by its convenience and ease by allowing passengers to avoid the headache of finding a parking spot and paying an arm and a leg to park," added Miller. “You and your entire family will never pay more than $5 a day to get to and from the beach, downtown St. Petersburg, and everywhere in between.”

A one-way fare on the SunRunner is $2.25 and if riders choose to use the same form of payment, they will never pay more than $5 a day on any and every PSTA fixed-route service. Groups of four will only have to pay one $5 fare for the entire day.
